Here we go again.
After almost a year, an award for construction supervision at Miami International Airport was stalled last week after the mayor’s office said it needed more time to review a bid protest from the company that was not chosen.
Developing story: Former Miami City Manager Joe Arriola has filed a lawsuit against one of the commission candidates in the Coral Gables election over a mailer that told voters he had been fired from the Magic City for taking bribes.
The lawsuit names Javier Baños, candidate in Group 3, and former Miami Commissioner Marc Sarnoff — who donated to the political action committee that paid for the negative piece — as plaintiffs.
The endorsements are multiplying in the Coral Gables election, which ends next Tuesday. And just in time, too — as the vote-by-mail or absentee ballots are mailed to voters.
Three Group 2 candidates who didn’t make the runoff in the April 13 vote, Tania Cruz-Gimenez, Alexander Luis Haq and Claudia Miro, each endorsed Rhonda Anderson at a press conference in front of City Hall Tuesday. She already had the endorsement of the Miami Herald.
Voters in South Miami elected Brian Corey to serve out former Commissioner Bob Welsh‘s term after Welsh died in January. Corey beat out two other candidates: Mary Ann Ruiz and Zach Mann.
Guess those negative mailers worked.
Voters can take them to the early voting drop box
Coral Gables voters will start getting vote-by-mail or absentee ballots for the runoff election beginning on Tuesday, one week before Election Day.
