In her first video ad for the campaign in Congressional District 27, Democrat State Sen. Annette Taddeo has flipped the script and is calling U.S. Rep. Maria Elvira Salazar the socialist.
Voters in congressional District 27 got a call this week from “a national public opinion firm” that was obviously seeking to turn people against Sen. Annette Taddeo, who is running in the primary for the chance to challenge Congresswoman Maria Elvira Salazar.
Ken Russell who? The Miami Commissioner, also running in the Democratic primary, was not mentioned once.
The first mailer of the Election 2022 season to hit Ladra’s mailbox arrived Saturday. It’s a piece for Congresswoman Maria Elvira Salazar and, predictably, it touts her as “a freedom fighter” who is keeping socialism out of the United States.
And it comes within days of Sen. Annette Taddeo‘s announcement that she switched races from the governor’s bid to this congressional contest.
It wouldn’t be the 305 if there wasn’t at least one seat switch in the midterm elections, right?
Janelle Perez, the cancer survivor, healthcare executive and lesbian activist who had announced last month she would run against Congresswoman Maria Elvira Salazar next year, has switched races and will challenge Florida Sen. Ileana Garcia instead.
Oh, the irony!
Here was Republican House Minority Leader Kevin McCarthy standing in the Bay of Pigs museum in Hialeah Gardens, blasting the Cuban government — because, you know, he’s not going to get left out of the trend — saying that people are being picked up off the street as they cry for freedom, when the question and answer part of the press conference starts.
