Updated: Miami Beach Commissioner David Richardson, who was a state representative in District 113, announced Tuesday that he would be stepping down from his city seat to run for state House in District 106, with its newly-drawn boundaries.
He was only city commissioner by default, anyway, running for that after he lost a bid for Congress.

Miami-Dade Commissioners will consider on Tuesday approving an $7.8-million contract that was already awarded, and for which work has already started, to you guessed it, Magnum Construction Management — which is the same post-bridge collapse Munilla Construction company under a different name — to build a new county fire station in Sweetwater.
Mayor Daniella Levine Cava (or, rather, someone in her office) awarded the contract for construction of Dolphin Fire Station No. 68 — a brand new, 13,000-square-foot, single story, three-bay station on 1.6 acres of land at 11091 NW 17th St. — in September. That’s five months ago.

Videos released Friday by Coral Gables Police are not the only footage revolving around the arrest of a U.S. Congressman’s son in Coral Gables Wednesday.
The five videos from CCTV cameras on nearby skyscrapers show the events that occurred at Morton’s Steakhouse on Ponce de Leon Boulevard, when CJ Gimenez slapped Miami Commissioner Alex Diaz de la Portilla on the head and got tackled by the commissioner’s bodyguard.
