The first and only gubernatorial debate between Gov. Ron DeSantis and Congressman Charlie Crist seemed to have the incumbent on the ropes.
DeSantis sometimes looked like a dear in the headlights as he gritted his teeth and smirked at some of the Crist zingers.
Ask for cash seems to come from the governor’s office
Democrats are so worried about how the narrative on the governor’s race has changed since Hurricane Ian decimated some of Florida and Ron DeSantis didn’t completely blow it by tossing paper towels into the crowds.
Sure, his response has been sufficient. So far. Isn’t he doing exactly what he is supposed to? He’s military. They are good to have around in a crisis. And he is surrounded by people who are used to responding to hurricanes. Our search and rescue task force, for example, makes him look good.
It’s just a matter of when.
Gov. Ron DeSantis told reporters on Wednesday, at a press conference about toll rebates, that he will eventually suspend Miami-Dade Commissioner Joe Martinez, who was charged last week with unlawful compensatio. Prosecutors allege he took $15,000 in exchange for sponsoring and writing legislation for a couple of District 11 business owners.
